Charlamagne Praises Elon Musk for Defying Trump and Criticizing His ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

Charlamagne tha God on Wednesday praised Elon Musk for publicly calling out President Donald Trump’s massive proposed spending bill.

A week earlier, the bill — known as the “Big, Beautiful Bill” among Republicans — was passed in the House. It would extend tax cuts implemented in Trump’s first term and, despite assurances of the opposite, includes major cuts to Medicaid to offset costs.

The bill, according to the Congressional Budget Office, would increase the federal deficit by nearly $4 trillion over an 8-year period.

Musk, who was brought into Trump’s cabinet to oversee the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and help eliminate wasteful government spending, revealed in a clip for the upcoming episode of CBS Sunday Morning that he was “disappointed” by the bill. The billionaire added that the bill “undermines the work the DOGE team is doing” and cited the fact that it “increases the budget deficit, not decreases it.”

Reacting to the clip on Wednesday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne gave the Tesla founder credit for openly opposing the Trump-backed bill. He also suggested that Democrats could learn from the situation.

“I’m glad Elon Musk said that, too. You know what I mean?” Charlamagne said. “Don’t treat Trump the way Democrats treated [President Joe Biden] and act like you don’t see what we all see. “When something is wrong, call it out.”
