Don Jr. Announces Launch of ‘Trump Mobile’: ‘Unlimited Texting to 100 Countries!’
On the heels of its highly-criticized foray into cryptocurrency, the Trump Organization is now getting into the cellphone space.
Donald Trump Jr., at a press event inside Trump Tower on Monday, announced the launch of Trump Mobile, which will utilize the nation’s three major wireless networks — AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile USA — to offer 5G service to its customers.
“With Trump Mobile, we’re gonna be introducing an entire package of products that people can come — they can get telemedicine on their phone for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance in their cars, unlimited texting to a hundred countries around the world!” Trump Jr. said.
The just-launched Trump Mobile website touts “The 47 Plan” as its signature offering. Priced at $47.45 per month, the plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data — along with free international calling to over 100 countries. It is also offering the “T1 Phone” as its signature device. The all gold-colored phone has a 6.8-inch screen and will run customers $499.
A short time after the Trump Tower press event, Eric Trump dropped by Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to speak with anchor Maria Bartiromo about the new venture.
“You know, Maria, more and more we’re using technology as a company, right, to correct the problems,” Eric Trump said. “Obviously, Truth Social was to correct freedom of speech, right? I mean [President Donald Trump] lost his throughout the political process. Obviously, crypto — and we have the biggest projects in crypto — was to crack another problem, which is the fact that they were de-banking all conservatives. I was the most canceled person probably in the history of the country. And now we’re doing Trump Mobile. And Trump Mobile is going to revolutionize kind of cellphones, mobile calling. We’re going to do it better. We’re gonna do it safer.”
Of course, with a new Trump Organization business venture comes the ethical questions of how President Trump’s administration will regulate it. As technology website The Verge pointed out in its writeup of the Trump Mobile rollout, “Trump launching a mobile network could have complications. For one, the question of how FCC chairman Brendan Carr will handle regulating a network owned by his boss’ family.”
