‘Don’t Be a Dick’: Elon Musk Lashes Out at House Dem Who Condemed His ‘Attacks’ On Agencies ‘Unconstitional’

Special Advisor to President Donald Trump and wealthiest man alive, Elon Musk, lashed out at Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna (CA) Wednesday morning on X — the social media platform he purchased roughly two years ago and remade in his political pro-MAGA image to attempt to sway the 2024 election, which he did.

At issue is a recent vote taken during a House oversight hearing to subpoena Musk over the actions of his DOGE advisory committee that appears to have taken unprecedented and perhaps unconstitutional operational acts of dismantling a Congressionally approved and funded agency, USAID.

However, the motion failed 19-20, with Rep Khanna being the sole Democrat not voting as he “notably” abstained from the vote, as Politico’s Daniella Diaz pointed out on social media.

Khanna explained his absence on X, quoting Diaz’s post, saying:

I would have voted yes. They called a procedural vote without notice & I like 8 others didn’t make it there on time. Musk’s attacks on our institutions are unconstitutional. He should be subpoenaed & answer to our committee. They should call the vote again with notice.

A follow-up message provided more details:

I was in a meeting with the Ambassador to Mexico discussing the terrible tariffs when they called the vote with no notice and then didn’t make it on time. They should properly notice and call the vote again.

Musk appeared to be taken aback by Khanna’s first claim, firing back with an insult that read, “Don’t be a dick.”

Khanna serves California’s 17th district, which includes much of Silicon Valley and he and Musk have known and even worked with one another for many years. Khanna explained his relationship with Musk and other “tech bros” in a recent interview with David Remnick on The New Yorker Radio Hour.

Khanna fired back at Musk, writing, “Elon, we have known each other a long time. You can’t stop payments that Congress has authorized and appropriated. Make recommendations to Congress, but don’t stop payments. That’s Article I. Also, let’s debate why we need the DOE.”
