Fox & Friends Horrified by Spread of ‘Gross’ Frankenstein Bunnies: ‘You Go Out and Shoot It?’

The co-hosts of Fox & Friends looked visibly perturbed by a viral news item about the so-called “Frankenstein bunnies” that are popping up across America.

It all started as Carley Shimkus presented the story of the unfortunate rabbits that have sprouted tentacle-like horns on their faces as a result of a papilloma virus infection.

The virus is mostly harmless, according to reports, but the frightening appearance of the infected Thumpers has stoked both fear and disgust.

“Kind of gross to look at, right?” Shimkus said as she turned it back over to Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt, and Lawrence Jones on the Curvy Couch. “You feel bad for the rabbits, but luckily, they don’t have mirrors, so they don’t know.”

“I mean, what do you do?” Kilmeade asked. “Do you do like an Old Yeller thing where you go out and shoot it?”

CARLEY SHIMKUS: And also, take a look at this. Some rabbits across the united States have been infected with a papilloma virus, which is causing horns and tentacle-like growths to appear on their faces. The so-called “Frankenstein” rabbits have been seen in Colorado, Minnesota, and Iowa. The virus is spread by parasites like ticks and fleas and there is no known cure. Experts are warning people to stay away from these rabbits. They’re calling them Frankenstein rabbits. Just look at that. Kind of gross to look at, right? You feel bad for the rabbits, but luckily, they don’t have mirrors, so they don’t know.

AINSLEY EARHARDT: Little bunny.

BRIAN KILMEADE: Right. I mean what do you do? Do you do like an Old Yeller thing where you go out and shoot it?

SHIMKUS: Just stay away. Maybe that’s the best advice.

EARHARDT: That was for rabies, though. That was rabies.

KILMEADE: I guess they didn’t have any vets back then. I mean…

LAWRENCE JONES: Frankenstein, though?

EARHARDT: How could you talk like that when you have your big announcement today? How could you even do that?

JONES: Totally not sensitive.

KILMEADE: It definitely stuck with me as bad parenting when you give a 12-year-old a shotgun and say, go shoot your dog. Old Yeller. I don’t want to give away the ending, but that was a heck of an ending.

JONES: What is up with you today?
