Fox News Panel Cautions Trump Against Going After Kimmel and Enemies: ‘Don’t Give the Left the Talking Point of Political Weaponization’

Shortly after his shocking Truth Social post demanding action in cases involving his political enemies, several Fox News panelists cautioned President Donald Trump against selectively targeting his rivals.

In a discussion on Saturday night’s Big Weekend Show, Fox News host Tomi Lahren expressed her reservations about Trump pushing Attorney General Pam Bondi to “act fast” in cases involving foes such as Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), former FBI Director James Comey, and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D).

“I do struggle with this, in all honesty,” Lahren said. “Not that I don’t think a lot of these people need to be investigated to the fullest extent, I do. I want transparency and I want accountability for a lot those folks that he mentioned in that Truth Social post. [But] for me, sometimes it’s like, don’t give the left the talking point of political weaponization — even though those of us at the table know the baloney, and we understand. I don’t like giving fodder to the left in this way.”

Co-host Joey Jones echoed that note of caution and expanded Lahren’s point to include Jimmy Kimmel — who was indefinitely suspended by ABC on Wednesday, hours after Trump’s FCC Chair, Brendan Carr, warned the network to take action against Kimmel, or watch the FCC step in.

“I think this is where you and I both are,” Jones said. “Like, even on the fact that Jimmy Kimmel was taken off air. And there’s this conservative undertone, or libertarian undertone, like, ‘Hey, listen, we get it, but let’s not be them. And let’s not take him off air.'”

But the panel was not unanimous. Fox News contributor Kaylee McGhee White defended Trump targeting his rivals.

“There’s a lot of both sides and, ‘Well, what if we do this to the libs, and then they’re gonna do it back.'” White said. “You mean, they’re doing what they’ve done to conservatives for the past decade without fear of consequence?! No! It’s time to actually start applying the power of the government to the correct causes in legal and in proper ways.”

“Legal and proper,” added Fox News anchor Kevin Corke. “Perfectly said.”
