Fox News’ Brooke Singman reported on Saturday reported the young man who murdered conservative media star Charlie Kirk lived with his transgender partner, who is now “fully cooperating” with the FBI on its investigation.
Sources told Singman that authorities now have access to messages between Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspected assassin, and his partner, that suggested Robinson was Kirk’s killer.
Singman, in an X post shortly before noon ET, reported Robinson’s partner “is a male transitioning to a female.” Shortly after Singman broke the news, The New York Post, another Rupert Murdoch-aligned outlet, reported those same details, and added that the name of the killer’s partner has not been revealed yet.
The 31-year-old Kirk was killed by a single gunshot to the neck during at an event at Utah State University on Wednesday; Kirk’s wife, Erika, and his two young children were at the event when he was gunned down.
As Singman pointed out on X, Kirk was in the middle of answering questions and debating audience members when he was killed. The last question he received was about transgender shooters in the U.S.; an audience member asked him “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”
Kirk responded: “Too many.”
The other person then asked if he knew how many mass shooters there had been over the last decade. Kirk asked in response: “Counting or not counting gang violence?” Right after, he was shot.
President Donald Trump this week said he will attend Kirk’s upcoming funeral in Arizona. Erika Kirk, during an emotional video stream on Friday night, thanked the president and said Charlie Kirk “loved” Trump; she also thanked Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, for their support following Kirk’s slaying.
Axios, later on Saturday evening, reported investigators believed Robinson had a “romantic” relationship with his trans roommate, according to six sources. The report said Robinson believed Kirk’s views towards trans people were “hateful,” and authorities are now looking into whether that anger towards Kirk was Robinson’s motive for the killing.
