Jen Psaki Asks Chris Christie ‘Are You Happier Biden Is In The Oval Office Right Now Over Donald Trump?’
MSNBC host Jen Psaki asked Chris Christie if he’s happier President Joe Biden “is in the Oval Office right now over” ex-President Donald Trump?
Christie was a guest on Monday’s edition of MSNBC’s Inside With Jen Psaki, just as news was breaking that President Biden will visit Israel on Wednesday amid the Israel-Hamas War that has shaken the entire world.
Psaki contrasted Biden’s words and actions in support of Israel with recent comments in which Trump lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli defense officials and praised Hezbollah as “very smart” in response to the violence sparked by the terrorist assault on Israel by Hamas.
While Christie side-stepped when Psaki asked if he’s glad Biden is president instead of Trump, he praised Biden’s actions and torched Trump (again) as “a fool”:
JEN PSAKI: Before we take a quick break to ask you just about Donald Trump’s comments, because he called Hezbollah smart. He attacked Prime Minister Netanyahu. At the same time, President Biden has promised steadfast, steadfast support for Israel and won praise from the prime minister. Again, I know you have disagreements, but are you happier that Joe Biden is in the Oval Office right now over Donald Trump in the midst of this crisis?
CHRIS CHRISTIE: (laughs) Well, you know, if I had my choice, Jen, I’d rather have neither.
JEN PSAKI: You’d rather have yourself, I guess, that’s true.
CHRIS CHRISTIE: Yeah. You know, that’s why I’m running. But but look, the point is this Donald Trump and I said this just last week. Those comments were the comments of a fool, an absolute fool, both in the way he said them, when he said them, and how he said them.
And as I said to you right off the top, you know, I support what President Biden is doing by going to Israel and I support the comments that President Biden has made in contrast to the foolish comments being made by Donald Trump. You do not give aid and comfort, even in your language, to an enemy of Israel while they’re in the midst of being attacked by a terrorist group and threatened by another terrorist group, both of which are sponsored by the largest exporter of terror in the world in Iran.
Donald Trump should know better, but he doesn’t. And that’s why he should be disqualified from being seriously considered for president United States. That’s why I’m taking him on. And that’s why we put an ad out. Our super PAC putting that out today, saying exactly that.
