Capitol Police on Thursday afternoon responded to a reported bomb threat at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee.

The police activity was reported by Semafor congressional bureau chief Burgess Everett, who added:

Senate staff just got an alert: “Capitol Police are responding to an incident at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Headquarters. Staff are asked to remain clear of the police activity.”

Courthouse News reporter Benjamin Weiss posted photos of the scene at the DNC, showing a significant police presence. A source told him it was a bomb threat, and that seemed to be confirmed by the presence of sniffer dogs.

Minutes later, the threat was officially confirmed but deemed to “not be credible.” Despite this, police conducted a sweep of the area.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
