Leaked Videos Show Trump Using Official Seal At Private Crypto Dinner
Leaked videos on social media show President Donald Trump using the official presidential seal at his crypto investors’ gala despite White House claims it was a strictly “private” event.
The president’s schedule Thursday contained an opaque entry that read “7:00 PM: THE PRESIDENT attends a Private Dinner, Trump National Golf Club, Closed Press.”
The occasion was a gala dinner for the top 220 purchasers of Trump’s “$TRUMP” meme coin, a scheme that critics from across the political spectrum have nuked as a corrupt enrichment scam. The “winners” were not publicly disclosed and the event was closed to the press.
Hours before the event, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the dinner and the secrecy surrounding it, insisting it was a purely “private” event and telling reporters, “The president is attending it in his personal time. It is not a White House dinner, it’s not taking place here at the White House.”
But several videos leaked on social media by attendees show Trump speaking at the dinner, at least one of which featured the official seal.
One clip posted by top $TRUMP memecoin investor and multi-billionaire Justin Sun shows Trump speaking next to the official presidential seal:
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: What a nice place. Did you get to see the helicopters?
UNIDENTIFIED: Yeah. Yeah. Super cool. It was good seeing you.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Covered up pretty good. I don’t see a lot of window here. How do you like this location?
UNIDENTIFIED: It’s pretty nice.
In another clip posted by Sun, items like gold watches are awarded to attendees.
Attendee and crypto entrepreneur Ciara Sun posted a clip of Trump speaking behind a different seal that resembles the presidential seal, but the video doesn’t clearly show the details:
