‘Lock Yourselves Up!’ Trump Fan Heckles Gang of Protesters Wielding ‘Felon’ Signs Outside Hush Money Sentencing
A supporter of President-elect Donald Trump heckled a group of protesters holding anti-Trump signs outside the courthouse where he was sentenced in the Stormy Daniels hush money case on Friday.
Trump appeared virtually on Friday to be sentenced after being found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsification of business records last spring, hours after the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to deny Trump’s emergency petition to prevent his sentencing hearing from being held.
In anticipation of the hearing, various news outlets placed cameras outside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse where the sentencing took place, and where groups of protesters and counter-protesters gathered.
On one side of the street, a group of about a dozen anti-Trump protesters held a large banner that said “Trump Is Guilty.”
They also held other signs that said “Con Man,” “Fascist,” “Fraud,” “Guilty,” “34 Felony Convictions,” “Today’s Sentencing: Justice Delayed Versus Justice Denied,” “No Jail Time Is An Injustice To Us All,” “Justice Matters,” and “Presidents Are Not Kings.”
At various times during the live stream, a woman can be heard heckling the anti-Trump protesters, at one point telling them “He ain’t going to jail! You guys are wasting your time!”
“You can’t stop what’s written in the Bible! Okay? Why don’t you lock yourselves up!” she says at another point.
Also heard on the live feed:
“I’m going to show you guys he ain’t going to jail!”
“It’s the Lord Jesus Christ who’ll deal with it! And when that happens, I think you guys need to hit the brakes! Start doing the right things in the world.”
“No one’s a king, not even you guys!”
“You guys destroyed my life.”
“You stole my inheritance!”
At the hearing, Judge Juan Merchan imposed a sentence of an unconditional discharge, which carries no penalty but finalizes Trump’s status as a convicted felon.
