Mary Trump Torches ‘Vile’ MAGA Crowd Attacking Mamdani: ‘Bigotry’ Will ‘Only Get Worse’

Ex-presidential niece Mary Trump told SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah that “vile” attacks against Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani by supporters of President Donald Trump are “extremely dangerous” and will “only get worse.”

The biggest story in Democratic politics this week is Mamdami’s stunning mayoral primary upset win, after which a slew of MAGA figures posted attacks on the candidate, who is a democratic socialist and a Muslim American — both of which figured heavily in the barrage.

On Friday’s edition of The Dean Obeidallah Show, the host talked with Ms. Trump   — a strident Trump critic — about Mamdani’s victory and the attacks that emanated from members of her family:

DEAN OBEIDALLAH: So you’ve got Donald Trump Jr. I thought you got money from the Muslims in the Middle East, Donald Trump, Jr. And now you’re going to turn to people who gave you billions of dollars for your, I hope they take the money back.

But what a vile, and Charlie Kirk and all of them, but you know, it’s the members of Congress, councilpeople in New York calling for Mondami to be deported now.

This is very dangerous and my concern is the anti-Muslim bigotry ends up manifesting as hate crimes. Now if it just stops here, it’s one thing, but I don’t think it’s going to stop here.

And my real concern are hate crimes against Muslim Americans, especially kids at school getting bullied or women with hijabs are often the target because they’re most visible. People see them with a hijab and they know what they’re about, but they’re Muslim. So what’s your reaction to your cousin and others saying this vile stuff?

MARY TRUMP: He’s a vile human being who’s accomplished nothing in his meaningless, miserable little life and he is, you know, unfortunately–.

And this is one of the things I most resent about Donald, my uncle, is that is the people he has subjected us to because, you know, fortunately, including Donald, we have to pay attention to what they say.

Not because their opinions matter, but because. Millions of people listen to them because they have a platform by virtue of their relationship with Donald.

So it is extraordinarily dangerous, as you say. And I agree with you, it is not going to stop here. It’s going to get worse.

And make no mistake, this mayoral race in New York City is going to be nationalized in a way we may not have seen happen before.

And I realized I just said something like Donald. Um, but in this case, it happens to be true. Like he says all the time, it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

This will be, this will be nationalized in a way I don’t think any race ever has been any local race ever has been the money, uh, from the dark money coming in, uh from the right, um, it, it going to be worrisome, uh and Fascinating.

I I think it will also depend. I mean, I don’t think this will impact the anti-Muslim bigotry, unfortunately. But in terms of the sort of tone of the race, I think whether or not Cuomo decides to run as an independent, which he really shouldn’t, will also make a bit of a difference.

And it’s going to be rough because it will not be a race that is confined to New York City. Like we could handle it. We could handle, but it’s the rest of the world won’t be able to.
