Democrats released new documents from the estate of child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein on Friday, and they include evidence the billionaire was set to meet with Elon Musk and others.
“It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” Oversight Committee spokesperson Sara Guerrero said in a statement.
The lawmakers called for Attorney General Pam Bondi to release “all the files” related to Epstein, who died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while being charged with sex trafficking. The administration has faced calls for more Epstein-related files to be released after a controversial FBI/DOJ memo claimed there was no evidence Epstein was trafficking sex on behalf of high-profile associates. His longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving time for sex trafficking, something DOJ said she did in coordination with Epstein.
The new documents include schedules from 2010 to 2019 for Epstein and flight logs for trips to his private island, where he would often take guests.
Included in the documents is evidence that Epstein had scheduled meetings with fellow billionaires like Peter Thiel and Bill Gates. Steve Bannon also had a meeting scheduled with Epstein, and Prince Andrew appears on a flight log. There is also evidence that Musk had a “pending trip” set for Epstein’s private island. Some redactions are included in the documents to protect the identity of victims.
This is the third batch of documents lawmakers have released, and they said on Friday they expect more to come.
“Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims. Oversight Democrats will not stop until we identify everyone complicit in Epstein’s heinous crimes,” Sara Guerrero said. “It’s past time for Attorney General Bondi to release all the files now.”
