‘Objection!’ Chauvin Lawyer Bristles When Witness Calls Floyd Cops ‘Animals,’ Says He Watched ‘Humane Sh*tshow’
An attorney for accused George Floyd murderer Derek Chauvin objected when prosecution witness and MMA fighter Donald Williams called the police who are charged in Floyd’s killing “animals,” and referred to the incident as a “humane shitshow.”
On day two of Chauvin’s murder trial, Mr. Williams was cross-examined extensively by the Chauvin defense team, who tried to portray his behavior on the scene while the incident was being filmed as threatening in an attempt to bolster their claim that bystanders were to blame for the officers’ actions.
On re-direct, prosecuting attorney Matt Frank asked Williams “When you were watching this interaction between these three Minneapolis, four Minneapolis police officers and Mr. Floyd, were you watching a cage match at the time?”
“Well, I only seen two of them animals, so I was watching more of a humane shitshow,” Williams replied.
“Objection!” cried Chauvin’s defense attorney, Eric Nelson.
“Sustained,” the judge ruled, and Williams apologized.
“So you weren’t watching a sport that day, were you?” Frank asked.
“Not at all,” Williams said.
The exchange followed a cross-examination in which defense attorney Nelson stressed Williams’ use of profanity and rising anger as he watch then-Officer Chauvin press his knee into Floyd’s neck for what would turn out to be nine minutes and 29 seconds.
