Pro-Trump Pastors ‘Lay Hands On’ Ambassador At Patriot’s Gala To Ask God To Protect Israel

A group of pro-Trump pastors “laid hands on” Israel Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter at a “Patriot’s Gala” as they prayed for God to surround him with angels and protect Israel from enemies.

This month saw a fervent gathering of pastors worshipping with White House Faith Office chief Pastor Paula White, as well as this weekend’s Faith and Freedom Coalition “Road to Majority” conference in Washington, DC.

During Friday night’s Patriot’s Gala, Amb. Leiter gave a brief speech, which was followed by a group of pastors demonstrating the “laying on of hands,” a symbolic custom meant to impart blessings or healing, among other things.

As they laid hands on the ambassador, the pastors took turns praying for God’s protection:

RALPH REED: Thank you, Mr. Ambassador. I thought it would be appropriate given what the people of Israel going through, what the Ambassador is going through. What he’s experienced in the fight that he’s in, that we would take a minute tonight before he leaves for Shabbat services and we would lay hands on him as his Christian brothers and sisters and pray for him.

So if you feel comfortable, if everybody would stand for those who want to and feel comfortable, extend your hands to him. And we’re gonna say a prayer for him. Alveda why don’t you start?

DR. ALVEDA KING: God bless you, guide you, keep you. Peace. Shalom.

PASTOR: Abba Father, we come to you and we ask you, Lord, to strengthen your people. Strengthen every Jew, strengthen every Christian to look to you during this time of trial for your purposes in history. Fill us with strength and faith and show yourself to the world through your people, amen.

PASTOR ROBERT JEFFRESS: Father, we thank you for the ambassador, and we pray your divine protection upon him as he represents not only the nation of Israel, but the God of Israel. We thank you his strong faith and pray you would bless him with every blessing from heaven as he represent your message to our nation. And we pray this in our Messiah’s name.

RALPH REED: Father, we lift up Ambassador Leiter to you. We pray that you would surround him with your angels. We pray the fiery shafts of the enemy fired at him, at Prime Minister Netanyahu, and at the Jewish people would be stopped by your power.

Lord, not by American arms, not by American Patriot missiles. Those are just instruments in your hands.

You are the one who protects Israel. You are one who gave them this land. We are simply being obedient to your command to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God, I pray for this alliance, and I pray for the relations between our two nations.

I pray for the personal rapport and relationship between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump. I pray that it would be strong at every level of our government.

I pray you would give the Ambassador favor before our government and before the American people.

God we pray that those who would seek to harm even a strand of hair on the head of a single Israeli citizen would be destroyed by your almighty power. And we give you all the glory in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
