‘Psychopathic Nut Job’: Trump Savages Jerry Nadler as He Cheers Congressman’s Retirement

President Donald Trump savaged veteran New York Democrat Jerry Nadler as a “bum” and “psychopathic nut job” and a “bum” as he celebrated the congressman’s decision to retire after 34 years in the House.

Nadler, who chaired the House Judiciary Committee during Trump’s two impeachment battles and represents one of Manhattan’s most affluent districts, announced Tuesday he will retire from Congress next year and framed his departure as part of a necessary generational reset for his party.

Trump, naturally, was delighted to hear it but didn’t spare any niceties for the congressman with whom he’s had a decades-old beef in a brutal Truth Social post early Friday morning:

Jerry Nadler, one of the most disgusting Congressmen in USA History is, at long last, calling it “quits” – He’s finally leaving Congress! I’ve been beating this bum for 40 years, first as a New York City developer, where he opposed me, for no reason, at every corner, but could NEVER stop me from getting the job done, and then, as your President, where this psychopathic nut job, together with Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Impeached me twice, AND LOST, wasting Millions of Dollars in time and taxpayer money. It will be a great day for the U.S.A. when Nadler, a pathetic lightweight, is out of office and leaves our beautiful, and NOW VERY SAFE, Washington, D.C. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT

Trump’s feuding with Nadler first began with a zoning dispute in the 1980s over Trump’s West Side Manhattan development, with Nadler blocking plans to reroute a highway to boost apartment values.

Trump mocked him as “Fat Jerry,” a taunt he has reportedly repeated in recent years. Nadler, who later underwent weight-loss surgery, then came at the president as a congressman armed with subpoena power, probing Trump’s campaign, business dealings, and first administration.
