‘Shut The F*ck Up!’ Joe Rogan Hits at Douglas Murray Over Israel-Gaza Debate
Joe Rogan ripped Douglas Murray for using “tactics” and not “facts” in a heated podcast debate on Israel and Gaza with comedian Dave Smith, slamming the British conservative commentator for attacking the credentials of his opposite when he’s “not an expert either.”
Throughout the debate, hosted by Rogan in an April episode of his show, Murray accused Smith of throwing “out a lot of shit” information on topics he knew little about and accused Rogan of platforming “dangerous” figures like Ian Carroll and Darryl Cooper instead of pro-Israel voices.
Rogan defended himself at the time, arguing he had hosted several pro-Israel guests to discuss the conflict.
On Tuesday, however, in conversation with guest Cameron Hanes, a well-known bowhunting influencer, the pair revisited the debate for Rogan to level a brutal takedown of Murray’s approach to the conversation.
“This appeal to experts, just because you have a degree, you’re not always right. You’re wrong all the time,” Rogan said of Murray.
Hanes replied: “Yeah, that was pretty disappointing because I thought Douglas Murray… I liked listening to him.”
“He sounds so good with that accent,” the host mocked.
Hanes continued: “But then on that one, I think I told you, I texted you something about, man, he seemed pompous. That took a big… for me, it was a loss for him, big time,”
Rogan said: “Well, he used tactics rather than facts. So the tactic was an appeal to experts like that. And there was also saying that the coverage was imbalanced because I didn’t have enough people that were pro-Israel. But then I thought about it afterwards. I’m like, I know quite a few. There was Jordan [Peterson], Ben Shapiro. There was Coleman Hughes. There’s been quite a few people that are pro-Israel. And not even that people are anti-Israel, they just don’t want to watch people get blown apart all the time.”
He continued: “That seems pretty reasonable but instead of debating how this is done and what is being done militarily, it all became about like who are the experts and what are the what are the things that should be discussed and should it be balanced and do you have an obligation… Like that’s not what we’re here for what we’re here for is to get down to business so what he’s doing is like putting you on the defensive right away out of the gate yeah, which is like i recognized…”
Hanes agreed: “Because most people, when they start getting attacked, you get defensive, you attack back. It just changes the whole dynamic of the conversation. But you stayed pretty neutral on that.”
“It’s a trap,” the host said.
Rounding on Murray, Rogan continued: “It’s a tactic, you know, and then the thing of asking Dave ‘you’ve never been [to Israel]’ like to dismiss instead of having a debate on the issues. And this idea that an expert, like Douglas Murray, I love him dearly, I think he’s a brilliant man, [but] he’s got a degree in history. Or, excuse me, he’s got a degree in English. Bachelor’s degree.”
In a final jab, the host added: “He’s not an expert either. Unless we’re talking about Shakespeare. Shut the fuck up. Because you’re not an expert either. You know what I mean?”
