‘This is Not Constitutional’: House Republican Immediately Blasts Trump’s Attack on Iran

Within minutes of President Donald Trump announcing that the US military had bombed Iranian nuclear facilities, he faced condemnation from both sides of the aisle in Congress.
Trump announced via social media on Saturday evening that the United States has “completed” a “very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.”
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!Thank you for your attention to this.
The announcement from Trump marks the start of U.S. military involvement in the conflict between Iran and Israel. The White House said Trump would decide in two weeks whether the United States would strike Iran.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who has repeatedly urged Trump to avoid joining the war and pointed out the president needs congressional authority to launch such military strikes, took to X to insist the attack was “not Constitutional”:
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) also took to X to condemn the attack and urge his colleagues to support the resolution he presented with Massie which would reaffirm the authority of Congress to check presidential power to declare war:
