Trump Credits Himself For Predicting Threat of Osama Bin Laden in One Of His Books, ‘Whatever the Hell the Title’

President Donald Trump on Sunday repeated his claim that he predicted Osama bin Laden was a threat to the U.S. before the 9/11 terror attacks, but didn’t get proper credit for the revelation.

Trump told the story before a gathering of Navy personnel in Norfolk, VA, as part of the Navy’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

Here is what he told the crowd:

“And history will never forget that it was the SEALs who stormed the compound at Osama bin Laden and put a bullet in his head, Remember that?” Trump recollected.

He continued: “And please remember I wrote about Osama bin Lady exactly one year…before he blew up the World Trade Center. And I said, ‘You gotta watch Osama bin Laden.’ And the fake news would never let me get away with that statement unless it was true. But I said, ‘One year before,’ to Pete Hegseth. I said, ‘One year before,’ where’s Pete?” the president asked while scanning the crowd.

Trump then added:

But in the book, whatever the hell the title, I can’t tell ya, but I can tell you there’s a page in there devoted to the fact that I saw somebody named Osama Bin Laden and I didn’t like it and you have to take care of him. They didn’t do it. A year later, he blew up the World Trade Center. So, we’re gonna take a little credit, because nobody else is going to give it to me. You know the old story — if they don’t give you credit, just take it yourself.

According to CNN, “Trump’s January 2000 book, The America We Deserve, mentioned bin Laden once, but it did not call for bin Laden to be killed or warn that he would perpetrate a major attack if he were not killed. In a separate section, the book said the US was in danger of a major terrorist attack that would make the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center look minor in comparison – but it did not predict that bin Laden or al Qaeda would be the perpetrator of this attack.”
