Trump Declares D.C. Is ‘SAFE AGAIN!’ as He Threatens Mayor Over Crime Reports: ‘Bad Things Will Happen’

President Donald Trump accused D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser of issuing “false” crime stats, warning “bad things will happen” as he praised the work of the National Guard and police, who he said are “NOT PLAYING GAMES!!!” during his crime crackdown.

Trump took to Truth Social just before 2 a.m. Friday, hours after visiting with law enforcement patrolling the streets and touting his initiative to clean the streets.

“Washington, D.C. is SAFE AGAIN!” he proclaimed.

He also urged Bowser to stop putting out what he claims are inaccurate crime stats, warning her that “bad things will happen.”

Washington, D.C. is SAFE AGAIN! The crowds are coming back, the spirit is high, and our D.C. National Guard and Police are doing a fantastic job. They are out in force, and are NOT PLAYING GAMES!!! As bad as it sounds to say, there were no murders this week for the first time in memory. Mayor Muriel Bowser must immediately stop giving false and highly inaccurate crime figures, or bad things will happen, including a complete and total Federal takeover of the City! Washington D.C. will soon be great again!!!

Ahead of his ride-along with authorities on Thursday, Trump spoke to those gathered outside a D.C. police precinct in a speech that devolved into a screed about grass and how he knows more about it than “anybody alive.”
