President Donald Trump has spoken out about Hulk Hogan, hours after the wrestling icon died in Florida on Thursday morning.

“We lost a great friend today, the “Hulkster.” Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive.”

“To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!” added the president.

Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, gave an impassioned speech in support of Trump at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last year, days after Trump was nearly killed by a would-be assassin’s bullet in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“What happened last week when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next president of the United States, I said, ‘Enough was enough!'” Hogan shouted during the speech.

Hogan then took off his blazer, ripped a black T-shirt open at the chest, and revealed a Trump/Vance cutoff shirt.

Hogan concluded, “I said, ‘Let Trump-a-Mania run wild, brother! Let Trump-a-Mania rule again! let Trump-a-Mania make America great again!”

Police were called to Hogan’s Florida home at about 10 a.m. Thursday, where the wrestler was suffering from apparent cardiac arrest, authorities said. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
