Trump ‘Officially Calls For’ Immediate Debate With Biden ‘For The Good of The Country’

Former President Donald Trump challenged President Joe Biden to “immediately” debate him “for the good of the country” in a podcast interview.

On Monday’s edition of The Dan Bongino Show, Trump said he doesn’t think Biden will run for president (Biden has already won two primaries), called for Biden to debate him “immediately,” and reiterated his offer to grant a post-Super Bowl interview in Biden’s stead:

DONALD TRUMP: And I don’t think he’s going to run. I don’t know if it’s donors or otherwise. It might be his family. It might be something.

I don’t think he’s gonna run, but I’d like to call for, immediately, debates. I’d like to debate him now because we should debate. We should debate for the good of the country. So I will officially qon your show call.

DAN BONGINO: Oh, wow! Look at that! We’re breaking news, Mr. President Donald J. Trump calls for debates against, Joe Biden. I mean that’s great. We’re breaking some news here!

DONALD TRUMP: (inaudible) problems Dan, and get him to change his ways. But I am officially doing that. I also put out, you probably noticed, that I’ll take his spot at the Super Bowl if they want. We’ll get very good ratings.

President Biden was in Las Vegas on Monday and spoke to reporters as he emerged from a tea shop. He reacted to Trump’s remarks with a laugh and a joke:

Q Mr. President, Donald Trump said he’s ready to debate you right now. Do you accept?

THE PRESIDENT: (Laughs.)

Q He just said that on radio. (Inaudible) — wants to debate you immediately, he says.

THE PRESIDENT: Immediately?

Q Yes.

Q Will you debate him?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I — if I were him, I’d want to debate me too. He’s got nothing else to do. (Laughter.)
