Trump Rages at ‘Soft and Foolish’ Republicans Falling for Democrats’ ‘Epstein Hoax’

President Donald Trump claimed Republicans concerned about late child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein are “soft and foolish” politicians playing into Democrats’ game.
“The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses, especially the SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT, where their party is in total disarray, and has no idea what to do,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday.
Thousands of new documents related to Epstein were dumped out to the public this week, including many correspondences by Epstein mentioning Trump by name. The president was not accused of any wrongdoing in the messages, and the White House claimed Democrats were trying to “embarrass” Trump, a former friend of Epstein.
Epstein died of an apparent suicide while facing sex trafficking charges in 2019. His longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving 20 years behind bars for sex trafficking, something the Department of Justice said she did in coordination with Epstein.
Trump blasted Republicans who are supporting a push to release more files related to Epstein’s case. The House will soon take up a vote on a bill that would force the release of more Epstein files after a petition on the measure reached the required 218 signatures. A co-sponsor on the bill is Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and other Republicans have thrown their support behind it, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Nancy Mace (R-SC).
Bipartisan calls for more files to be released increased after Trump’s DOJ declared earlier this year that Epstein was not sex trafficking girls for friends and high-profile associates, despite what victims have alleged for years.
The president claimed these Republicans are “weak.” He also claimed Epstein is a Democrat “problem” that Republicans should not be concerned with.
“Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish,” Trump wrote. “Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem! Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Sommers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to run!”
