WATCH: Activists Projects Scathing Anti-Elon Musk Imagery Onto Tesla HQ
British activist group “Led By Donkeys” has taken their campaign to the walls of Tesla’s European headquarters in Amsterdam. They accuse tech billionaire Elon Musk of using his social media platform, X, to amplify President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, spread conspiracy theories, and cash in on his support for the controversial candidate.
The nearly 10-minute film, which the group projected onto Tesla’s European HQ building in Amsterdam, lays out the narrative that Musk’s acquisition of X is part of a calculated effort to utilize “vast oligarchic wealth” to create a “media environment” that supports far-right ideologies.
After acquiring Twitter in 2022, the group argued in the film, Musk enabled a resurgence of right-wing figures whose voices had previously been sidelined. High-profile personalities like Andrew Tate and Tommy Robinson were reinstated on the platform, fostering an atmosphere that Led By Donkeys claimed was designed to benefit Trump.
The video has quickly gone viral, portraying Musk’s $119 million investment in Trump’s campaign as not just ideological but highly profitable, allegedly netting him $20 billion in the aftermath of Trump’s victory. The footage captures a tense intersection between wealth, power, and media manipulation, with Tesla’s headquarters serving as a pointed backdrop.
“There are many reasons why Trump won the US election,” Led By Donkeys said, “but Musk’s wealth and influence on public discourse make him a dangerous impediment to climate action, despite owning an electric car company.”
