Tucker Carlson — referring to himself as “an unemployed talk show host” — got himself a gig this weekend as a concert emcee.
The former Fox News host took the stage on Saturday at a concert in Gonzales, LA where he delivered a six-minute introduction for his pal Kid Rock. He started by trashing the country, but only the country that “they tell me about on the internet,” saying it’s “fucked up.” But not Tucker’s America!
The country they tell me about on the internet is fucked up. The country that I experience when I walk through this crowd or when I wake up in my town of 100 people in a rural area is a beautiful country, filled with beautiful people.
Tucker appreciates “beautiful people,” especially when they express how much they love him:
This chick gets right in my face. She’s got two nose rings, a cross necklace, and a Trump bracelet. And she looks at me right in the face and goes “AHHHHHHHHH! I love you.” And I said, “I love you too!” And I meant it. And I thought, “That’s the America that I know!” Little weird, slightly crazy, full of love, and beautiful. And that describes the man I’m here to introduce.
And that man was obviously Kid Rock, whom Tucker then described as “both disobedient but decent. That American would both give you the finger and burst out laughing at the same time.”
He’s also someone you can feel comfortable enough to discuss testicle tanning with, so good for them.
