Will Smith Stops Mid-Concert To Deny Online ‘Lie’ He Was Friends With Diddy: ‘Stop With All That Bullsh*t!’

Oscar-winning actor and rapper Will Smith stopped mid-performance at his concert on Thursday night in San Diego to shut down online speculation that linked him to embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Throwback photos of the two at industry events have resurfaced on social media, fueling rumors about their connection amidst serious allegations against Combs.
Performing at the Observatory North Park theater, Smith interrupted his set to address the viral chatter, much of which he said had gone too far.
“The world we’re in right now, it’s really hard for y’all to, like, discern what’s real and what’s true, you know?” Smith said, in footage obtained by TMZ.
He continued: “I’ve been seeing y’all’s memes and stuff… Some of it’s funny. I haven’t addressed any of this publicly, but I just wanna say this very clearly: I don’t have shit to do with Puffy, so y’all can stop all them memes. Y’all can stop all of that bullshit.”
Combs, who faces federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges, has been under scrutiny following a September indictment alleging a history of physically and sexually abusive behavior spanning more than a decade. The high-profile case has led to multiple lawsuits and Combs remains in federal custody in New York City, where he awaits trial after being denied bail three times.
Smith added: “I ain’t been nowhere near that man… I ain’t did none of that stupid shit. So whenever y’all hear it, if somebody say that, it’s a damn lie.”
Joking about some details from the indictment, the rapper said: “I don’t even like baby oil.”
Smith closed the moment with a swipe at internet speculation.
“I usually don’t respond to dumbass stuff because people say so much stuff,” he said. “But that one — your memes was doin’ too much. Y’all was having me mad.”
