A White House spokesperson lashed out at a claim on social media that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “hauled a**” out of the Oval Office when a man collapsed during a press conference.

At a Thursday press conference announcing massive discounts to weight loss drugs in the United States, Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay collapsed in front of cameras.

As the man dropped and people around tended to him, the press was ordered out of the room. The press conference continued approximately an hour later.

Liberal clipper Aaron Rupar posted a 23-second clip from the press conference showing Findlay collapsing, with some commentary about RFK Jr.’s behavior after the medical emergency.

“RFK Jr’s response to someone collapsing nearby him was to haul a** out of the room as quickly as possible,” Rupar wrote along with the clip.

Kennedy can be seen walking off camera in the short clip.

In response, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai blasted Rupar’s framing as completely false, explaining that Kennedy had scrambled out of the room to get medical assistance for Findlay.

“The Secretary rushed to get medical assistance while others tended to the man, you ghoul,” Desai wrote.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, was also in attendance at the press conference and told reporters after the incident that he and others “bear hugged” Findlay to get him safely to the ground. He said he spoke to Findlay’s wife by phone after the incident, and President Donald Trump also jumped on the call.

“I wanted to speak to the wife to let her know what was happening, but also comfort her. The president saw me in the corner and said, ‘Who are you talking to?’ I said, sort of sheepishly, I was talking to the wife. And he said give me that phone,'” he said. “And he talked to her and got her much calmer than I could have ever done.”
