George Santos Wrecks Republican Colleague Who Called Him a Crook: ‘Accused of Being a Woman Beater’

Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) tore into fabulist Rep. George Santos (R-NY) on the House floor Thursday as another vote to expel Santos from Congress nears.

“I myself have been a victim of George Santos and as well as other members of Congress in terms of defrauding through public donations and received an ethics complaint from the FEC, which I had to spend tens of thousands to defend myself.”

“You are a crook!” Miller added, addressing Santos directly.

“I know I should direct my comments to the chair. I yield back,” Miller concluded.

Santos was next recognized to speak and said, “I’d like to move to have the gentleman from Ohio’s words stricken from the record, please.”

“Gentlemen’s request is not timely, but the chair will remind all members the direct their remarks to the chair,” replied the presiding member.

Santos continued, “Mr. Speaker, the hypocrisy. As I mentioned, my colleague wants to come up here. Call me a crook. Same colleague who’s accused of being a woman beater. Are we are we really going to ignore the facts that we all have pasts and we all have the media coming out against us on a daily basis?”

Miller, a former Trump White House aide, was accused of slapping his then-girlfriend and Trump’s former press secretary Stephanie Grisham in 2020, which she said resulted in her ending the relationship.

In recent days, Santos has accused many of his GOP colleagues of illicit behavior and argued that if he is expelled for his allegedly illegal acts – he’s currently facing 23 federal charges – then any of them could be as well.
