A phone call in which then-President Joe Biden reportedly shouted at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to show more gratitude to the US for its war assistance went viral on social media Saturday.

A day after Zelensky left the White House after a heated meeting with President Donald Trump, a report of a June 2022 phone call between the Ukrainian leader and Biden made its rounds.

In that call, Biden reportedly shouted at his Ukrainian counterpart because he felt the US had not been adequately thanked for its military aid.

Friday, Zelensky went back-and-forth with the White House after Vice President JD Vance probed him about thanking the Trump administration.

“Have you ever said ‘thank you’ once?” Vance asked Zelensky on Friday.

Trump then said, “You have to be thankful.”

Zelensky replied he had expressed gratitude numerous times, but tensions flared and Trump later asked him to leave.

Throughout Saturday, an NBC News report of a heated call between Biden and Zelensky again received its share of traction online.

Saturday evening, Fox News White House reporter Jacqui Heinrich shared it on her X page.

She commented, “Relevant flashback: Biden raised his voice at Zelenskyy and told him to be more grateful in 2022.”

In the article Heinrich shared, NBC reported Biden spoke with Zelensky by phone in June of that year about more military aid and “lost his temper” during the talk. The network reported:

Biden had barely finished telling Zelenskyy he’d just greenlighted another $1 billion in U.S. military assistance for Ukraine when Zelenskyy started listing all the additional help he needed and wasn’t getting. Biden lost his temper, the people familiar with the call said. The American people were being quite generous, and his administration and the U.S. military were working hard to help Ukraine, he said, raising his voice, and Zelenskyy could show a little more gratitude.
