James Carville Taunts Trump Over Handling of Epstein Drama, Ghislaine Maxwell: ‘PLEASE Give Her a Pardon’
James Carville taunted President Donald Trump for keeping the door open on a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, even urging the president to go through with it on Tuesday.
In a Tuesday video for Politicon, Carville blasted the president as a “pervert” in a rant that saw him eventually call on Trump to go through with a Maxwell pardon.
Maxwell is the longtime associate of the late billionaire and sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. She is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking. The Department of Justice said Maxwell “conspired” with Epstein over the years to abuse underage women. Epstein, a convicted sexual predator, died of an apparent suicide while being charged with sex trafficking in 2019.
“Please give her a pardon,” Carville said.
Maxwell has been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee and has already met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in the wake of calls for more Epstein-related documents to be released to the public. A letter was sent to the House Oversight Committee this week that included a list of demands from Maxwell, including immunity. Maxwell’s lawyer claimed she gave information on 100 people in conversations with DOJ.
When asked about a pardon for Maxwell, Trump has said he hasn’t given it thought and it would be “inappropriate” to discuss publicly, but he’s also made clear he’s “allowed” to do it if he so chooses.
“First of all, hey Todd, you better get your ass out to Santa Fe and talk to the New Mexico officials,” Carville said, arguing that a pardon for Maxwell could spark new investigations, including some centered around Epstein’s New Mexico ranch, which sold in 2023.
Carville also noted that Maxwell was at one point facing perjury charges related to her statements about Epstein. He argued she has little to no credibility now and making a deal with her would only add to the backlash against Trump on Epstein.
The Democratic strategist said:
This is something very important. All this creepy crap, grooming these young women — of course I got to go all through that. It’s just too, it’s really, if you try to think about it, it’s just to fucking icky to think about — But they could have easily prosecuted, and it seems to me the fact is it would have been very easy for the government to convict our perjury. Yeah, that’s right. Perjury! That’s called lying under oath. So are you — do they think that anybody is going to believe a single fucking thing that she says? So what I say is bring it on, pardon her.
