Mehdi Hasan Says Trump Ballroom Should Be Renamed For ‘Barack Hussein Obama’ Because ‘It Will Kill Him!’

Zeteo founder Mehdi Hasan said the next president should rename the ballroom being built by President Donald Trump to the “Barack Hussein Obama Ballroom” because “It will kill (Trump)!”
Since taking office for a second time, Trump has overseen massive changes to the physical features of the White House, including a gold-drenched Oval Office overhaul, a paved-over lawn in the Rose Garden, and now a major demolition of the East Wing to make way for a massive ballroom.
After assurances to the contrary, the entire East Wing has been demolished, and ABC News reported this week that administraion officials are already referring to the building as “The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom,” and that the name “will likely stick.”
On Friday’s episode of The Jim Acosta Show, Hasan revealed to host Jim Acosta that his outlet reported that the project had long been conceived as a “Saddam Hussein-like” edifice, and the pair riffed on the suggestion:
MEHDI HASAN: Jim, my colleague Aswain Subesang reports this morning in our first draft newsletter that he has had Trump people tell him in the past that Trump has always had plans for a quote Saddam Hussein style White House and ballroom and, you know, turn it into Mar-a-Lago. And it is very Saddam style.
JIM ACOSTA: I think after they build this, they’ll say, oh, well, the West Wing doesn’t match anymore. Let’s blow that up and do that one next. That’s what he likes, right? He loves construction. He’s a real team.
MEHDI HASAN: A property guy. Look, I would say there’s one, there’s, you know, if I was a Democrat running for 2028 presidential primaries, I would make part of my platform, it would win the base. I would say vote for me. If I get elected to the White House, the first thing I will do is rename it the Barack Hussein Obama ballroom.
JIM ACOSTA: So don’t bulldoze it.
MEHDI HASAN: No, no, I would I would rename it after the person Trump hates the most Because Jim think about it once it’s built and he’s done it all the thing that will kill him is his name coming off of it
JIM ACOSTA: That’s true. And maybe just call it the Hussein Ballroom. Because that’s the part he hates the most.
Then it could be like Saddam Hussein or Barack Hussein Obama. You could pick your Hussein depending on what your perspective is of the ballroom.
JIM ACOSTA: Oh my God.
