Shocked Joe Rogan Says Someone Should Take Elon Musk’s Phone Away — Because Twitter’s Bad For His ‘Mental Health’
Joe Rogan suggested Elon Musk’s phone should be taken away after discovering the growing rift between the billionaire and President Donald Trump.
Rogan spoke with FBI Director Kash Patel this week in an episode recorded Thursday but released on Friday. During the recording, Rogan’s producer informed him that Musk was going off on the president on X, bringing up a post in which Musk accused Trump of concealing the “Epstein files” because his name is on them.
The “Epstein files” refer to lists of associates who traveled to Epstein’s private island where he was accused of assaulting and trafficking women, some of them minors.
“[Donald Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk wrote on X on Thursday in his growing war of words with Trump over the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk argues will raise the deficit. It also cuts tax subsidies for electric vehicles that would have otherwise benefitted Musk.
After Rogan read Musk’s post on his podcast, Patel made it clear he was staying out of any conversation involving Trump and Musk’s feud, saying it’s not his “lane.”
“Someone should take his phone away,” Rogan said in reaction to Musk, calling the Epstein accusation “crazy.”
The podcaster and comedian theorized that Musk’s frequent use of X could be an unhealthy habit.
“I mean, I understand he owns Twitter. I think it’s bad for your mental health. I think posting things public all day and arguing with people all day is bad for you,” he said.
“Well, you raise a great point. Sorry to cut you off,” Patel said, slightly changing gears. “Half of what we have to respond to is the click army on social media.”
During their earlier Epstein-centered conversation, Patel assured a sometimes skeptical Rogan that Epstein did commit suicide while in custody in 2019, but he admitted, “We will never be able to convince everyone,” thanks to social media fueling conspiracy theories.
Rogan had mentioned Musk only minutes earlier while discussing artificial intelligence and how it can be used to convincingly manipulate video. The podcaster said he’d just recently been speaking with Musk about the subject.
“AI can kind of make anything. You know, which has got to be a bizarre position for you to be in when you’re looking at videos. I mean, I watch Viking videos that look real as fuck. They just make Viking towns!” he said. “I mean, it’s really quite incredible what they’re doing now and it accelerates every month. I was talking to Elon about it and he said, we’re literally blown away by it every week. Every week there’s some new breakthrough.”
