Former CNN Reporter Bob Franken Joins Hearst Newspapers

Bob Franken, a veteran CNN reporter, will be joining Hearst Newspapers starting July 8. He will write a weekly column about Washington for the Hearst News Service.

Franken was at CNN for over 20 years, during which time his positions included Capitol Hill correspondent, Supreme Court reporter and White House reporter. He has covered stories ranging from the 9/11 attacks to presidential campaigns.

Announcing Franken’s position, Hearst Newspapers’ Washington Bureau Chief Richard S. Dunham said:

“Bob is a perceptive observer of the Washington scene, with a sense of humor and a distinctly outside-the-Beltway perspective.”

Franken’s long career began when he joined NBC in 1980. He later moved to CBS in 1983, and worked for CNN from 1986 to 2007.
