‘F*ck!’ NBA Draftee Goes Viral for Visibly Upset Reaction After Learning Which Team Picked Him

NBA Draft picks are usually in a celebratory mood. After all, it’s the night young basketball players have worked for their whole lives — where they find out which team they will play for, and which one is about to give them a multi-million dollar contract. But one pick on Wednesday night didn’t seem thrilled to learn where he will be plying his trade for the foreseeable future.

Collin Murray-Boyles, a standout at the University of South Carolina, was the ninth player chosen in the first round of Wednesday’s NBA Draft in Brooklyn. But just minutes into his NBA career, he’s already gone viral for his candid instant reaction after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver delivered the big news.

“With the ninth pick in the 2025 NBA Draft,” Silver said, “the Toronto Raptors select Collin Murray-Boyles.”

After Silver’s announcement, the ESPN cameras immediately cut to Murray-Boyles. And instead of expressing the usual jubilation, Murray-Boyles was spotted shaking his head and saying “Fuck!”

Perhaps Murray-Boyles not thrilled about the prospect of paying tariffs, or maybe he just prefers Dunkin’ Donuts to Tim Horton’s. Whatever the case, it sure seemed as though he wasn’t overjoyed at the idea of playing up north.

Basketball fans immediately caught the reaction and promptly spread the clip across social media.
