‘Mad Dog’ Russo Slams Michigan Football for Playing Victim Amid Sign-Stealing Scandal: ‘Go to Hell!’

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo is over the perception that the University of Michigan’s football team is being treated unfairly for allegedly stealing signs.

In the wake of the NCAA investigation into the allegations, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended for the final few games of the regular season. To some, that isn’t enough and there have been calls to ban the Wolverines from competing in this season’s College Football Playoff.

The Big Ten Conference’s investigation yielded no evidence that either Harbaugh or the players were aware of the expansive sign-stealing operation led by team staffer Connor Stalions. Still, the governing body felt it was appropriate to punish the coach. This has led the team and its fans buying into an “us vs. them” mentality as they feel they’ve been wronged.

On Monday, Russo had enough.

“Michigan went out there and freaking had everybody at the these games!” Russo said on Mad Dog Unleashed. “The stupid guy with the mustache in the Central Michigan game!

“And I’m supposed to be feel bad and that Michigan got wronged? What are you, crazy? Again, Michigan thinks they’re above it all. Michigan thinks they’re bigger than you.”

Russo then grew even more irate after reading a quote from the university claiming the investigation did “irreparable damage” to Michigan’s reputation.

“‘Irreparable damage’ my ass!” Russo said. “He’s a football coach! He’s not Gandhi! My God almighty! You know what Michigan can do? Loudly, go to hell!”
