Netflix will provide an in-depth look at PGA Tour player Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 arrest in the latest season of its golf documentary series.

Scheffler found himself at the center of the sports world in May 2024 when he was arrested hours before the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. The arrest occurred when Scheffler was driving into the club and unknowingly disobeyed officers ordering him to stop his car. Traffic was backed up at the time due to a car accident earlier that morning.

At one point, an officer reached into Scheffler’s car as it was in motion and was dragged on the ground as a result. Scheffler was then arrested and charged with reckless driving, assault of an officer, criminal mischief, and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic. He was released shortly after and resumed playing in the tournament. The charges against him were eventually dropped.

On Monday, Netflix released a clip of players talking about the moment in season three of the documentary series Full Swing.

“I’m warming up, and all I see is my friend, handcuffed, walking to a police car,” said fellow PGA player Tom Kim.

Scheffler was also included in the clip, revealing that he’s still confused about the chaotic scene from nearly 10 months ago.

“First of all, I was freaking out because I somehow went from driving into the golf course to a jail cell,” Scheffler said, “and I still don’t really know that happened, exactly.”

“I don’t think it ever really felt real.”

The clip then showed police body cam footage after Scheffler was arrested and put in the back of a car. There, Scheffler told the officer in the front seat that he “didn’t think this was ever a position I’d be in.” In response, the officer said, “Usually, people never do.”

The new season of Full Swing premieres Tuesday.
