Paul Pierce Makes Good on Promise to Walk 20 Miles to TV Studio in a Bathrobe if Celtics Lost Game 2

Retired NBA star Paul Pierce kept his word Thursday when he walked all the way to Fox Sports’ TV studios after the Boston Celtics lost the night before.
On Wednesday, the New York Knicks stunned the league when they beat the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The win gave the Knicks a 2-0 lead — with both wins coming as a result of the team overcoming 20-point comebacks against the defending NBA champions.
Hours before the Knicks pulled off another upset, Pierce — a Celtics legend — was supremely confident in his former team being able to avenge the Game 1 loss. He was so confident, in fact, that he made an interesting bet live on the Fox Sports program Speak.
“If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you I’m walking here tomorrow!” Pierce said. “I’m walking here! I’m walking here! Fifteen miles! I’m walking here! In my robe! No shoes on! Bare feet!”
Shortly after the loss, Pierce plugged the route into his phone’s GPS and posted the screenshot online. It was actually more than 20 miles.
The next morning, Pierce appeared to be following through on the bet when he posted videos of himself walking down the street.
“This is crazy, dog,” Pierce said. “I can’t believe this![Celtics] got me out here like this. I’m sweating. So I’m about like four miles in right now, so I think I got like another 16 miles. I’ve been going for about an hour and a half right now. Alright, I’ll keep y’all updated. I’m a man of my word, though.”
