Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox was blunt when he expressed how he felt about having to give post-game press conferences.

After a blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, Fox got in front of the microphone to address the media. One reporter noted how regardless of the outcome of the game, Fox is always one of the players that participates in the presser. Then, Fox was asked if that’s something he does intentionally to send a message to his team about accountability.

To Fox, however, it wasn’t that big a deal.

“I don’t get shit out of that,” Fox said with a smile. “I don’t get nothing out of that. They ask me, I do it.”

When asked if his teammates appreciate it, Fox claimed they don’t care either. He simply does what the team’s media personnel ask of him.

“They don’t give a fuck if I come up here and talk, I’ll tell you that,” Fox continued. “If Michael or Shannon ask me, I do it. I get no joy in this after a win or a loss. My team doesn’t care if I come up here in a blowout win or a blowout loss.”

Fox’s comments shouldn’t be interpreted as him being anti-media, though. As ABC10 reporter Matt George noted in a follow-up tweet, the star has been known to go out of his way to speak to media outside of his obligations.
