All eyes are focused on the Masters today, and for good reason, as golf legend Tiger Woods teed-off from Augusta National this morning, marking his return to competive golf just over a year after his near fatal car accident almost kept him on the sidelines for good.
Woods is currently sitting at even par through nine holes, two strokes back of the leaders, as he looks to secure his sixth Green Jacket in his illustrious career.
While Tiger has made it clear he wants to win, golf fans and enthusiasts alike are just glad to have Woods competing in the tournament.

And in typical Tiger fashion, he came to compete, scoring his first birdie in the competition after placing a pinpoint tee shot right next to the flag on the 6th hole. But as expected, fans are just happy to see Woods out on the course.

Woods’ longtime sponsor, Nike, also released a hype video prior to his first day back, featuring musical artist SchoolBoy Q and a montage of Tiger’s historical moments.

Woods has slowed down since then, picking up his first bogey in competition since 2020 while chucking another tee-shot into the rough. It will be interesting to see how long the 46-year-old holds up through the tournament as he is still recovering from almost losing his right leg in the accident.
