Chicago Cubs fans were not impressed by the vocal talent of Alex Cooper when she sang during the seventh inning stretch Sunday.
Cooper — the host of the popular women-oriented podcast Call Her Daddy — was in attendance at Sunday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. By the start of the seventh inning, the Cubs already had a commanding 11-0 lead and the game looked to be over.
Despite most of the crowd likely being in good spirits from the on-field play, it didn’t stop them expressing utter disappointment by Cooper’s rendition of the seventh inning stretch classic “Take Me Out To The Ballgame.”
“Are you ready?” Cooper said moments before beginning the song. She then chuckled and remarked that she’d “never sang something like this before.” She was joined by two other women beside her.
After counting down the crowd to join them, Cooper began the song with bizarre attempt at a baritone voice. As she progressed further into the song, the boos got louder to the point that those who actually were singing along could no longer be heard.
As Cooper finished up, the boos were simply too overwhelming to ignore. Undeterred, she laughed it off as her image was then removed from the big screen.
