Apple CEO Tim Cook will make a personal donation to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural committee, according to a report from Axios.

The technology mogul plans to donate $1 million to the president-elect’s committee, further showcasing the collaborative relationship between Cook and Trump. Previously, the pair have had multiple private meetings at Mar-a-Lago as well as at the White House during Trump’s first term.

Other CEOs and companies, including Meta and Amazon, have donated millions to Trump’s inaugurations in order to mend their relationship with the president-elect. Following January 6th, Trump’s accounts on multiple social media platforms were suspended.

A source close to Cook claims that the Apple CEO is donating to the inauguration because “he believes in participation, not sitting on the sidelines, and engaging with policymakers from both sides of the aisle,” per Axios.

The donation to Trump comes directly from Cook personally and not the company. Apple will reportedly not donate to the inauguration, according to Axios.

A report by The Wall Street Journal with the headline “How Tim Cook Cracked the Code on Working With Trump” states that Cook has spent years personally building a relationship with Trump. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was present for Cook’s dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago last month.
