Tucker Carlson Rips Israel for Bombing Christian Churches in Gaza: ‘Self-Destructive Behavior’

Tucker Carlson criticized Israel for recent military strikes that have wrecked Christian churches in Gaza and killed several people, saying it is “self-destructive behavior.”

The former Fox News star made the comment on a new episode of The Tucker Carlson Show on Wednesday in which he interviewed The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles. The two conservative commentators were discussing the Middle East when Knowles mentioned Saint Porphyrius, a Greek Orthodox church in Gaza, which had been damaged by Israeli strikes in October 2023 and in July 2024.

“I don’t understand it. I think it’s self-destructive behavior,” Carlson said. “What I care about is the effect on Christians — and that’s just not good at all.”

Knowles, a moment before, said he believed the strike — which reportedly killed 18 people, according to Palestinian officials — was “accidental.” Similarly, the Israeli government said it “deeply regrets” the shelling of Gaza’s only Catholic church in July, which killed three people.

“I don’t see why, from a strategic perspective, it would be beneficial to the Israelis to like, particularly stick a finger in the eye of Christians when America is your last political protector,” Knowles said.

Carlson has been critical of Israel — as well American politicians who support the country — multiple times since the war in Gaza started, following Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023 that killed approximately 1,200 people.

“If you wake up in the morning and decide that your Christian faith requires you to support a foreign government blowing up churches and killing Christians, I think you’ve lost the thread,” Carlson said last year.

More recently, in late July, he said those who lobby for Israel are “the most vicious people I’ve ever dealt with.”
