Fox Business Plays ‘Bulletproof’ by La Roux in Segment on Bulletproof Backpacks For Kids
Fox Business Network began a segment on bulletproof backpacks designed for the use of school children against mass shooters by playing the pop song “Bulletproof” by La Roux.
“Back to school backpacks taking on an all new meaning this morning,” host Maria Bartiromo said, ahead of the segment on “high end bulletproof backpacks.”
“You design these bulletproof backpacks specifically for the United States?” Bartiromo asked Carolina Casas of MC Armor, who responded with the affirmative.
“In the U.S., sadly, there’s the guns, everybody can have a gun,” Casas said while explaining why the packs are made for Americans. “So, here, kids need to be protected, and we have the fact that there is some school issues, so we need to bring this to the United States.”
Casas went on to say that the backpacks — which can also “be worn as a shield” — hold a ballistic plate inside them that are designed to stop bullets from puncturing the flesh of a would-be victim.
“Oh my goodness,” Bartiromo replied. “It’s incredible that this has come to this though, that we need bulletproof clothing. Some of these things are quite fashion forward.”
Show hosts don’t choose the music for segments, so it’s likely one of Bartiromo’s producers is responsible for the pop song selection.

UPDATE: A Fox Business Network spokesperson told Mediaite: “The song was chosen by the production team and the selection has been addressed.”
