NBC Abruptly Cuts From Special Report on McCain’s Death to Men Frolicking in Dolphin Masks
It was breaking news when the reports came out that Sen. John McCain had succumbed to brain cancer and passed away this weekend, and network television cut away from regular programming to report it. In the case of NBC, though, the timing when they cut back was extremely jarring.
After a somber announcement of the Senator’s passing, the network cut back to the programming that was already in progress. In the case of most affiliates, that happened to be a re-airing of the hit show America’s Got Talent, and the act performing at that moment was decidedly less somber.
You can see in the clip above, the stream jumped back right into the middle of a performance by two half-dressed men with dolphin head masks frolicking and using small tire pumps to create squealing noises with their belly buttons.
Twitter, of course, was all over it.
