Alyssa Milano Touts Letter With Over 100 Celebrities Opposing GA ‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Bill

Many people in the entertainment industry are voicing their opposition to Georgia’s HB 481, commonly known as the “Heartbeat Bill,” which would ban most abortions after doctors are able to detect a heartbeat in a fetus. The bill passed the Georgia House last week, according to WSBTV.
Considering that heartbeats can usually be detected starting at six weeks into the pregnancy, pro-abortion advocates say the measurre puts a ban all abortion because most women are unaware of their pregnancy until after six weeks.
Since the entertainment industry is big in parts of Georgia, actress Alyssa Milano posted a letter, signed by over 100 celebrities, saying they oppose the “Heartbeat Bill” and threatening to boycott the state.

“While I certainly respect the right of every woman to choose her own reproductive path — whether that’s abortion, adoption, parenting or none of the above — I fundamentally disagree with the notion that (predominantly male) lawmakers should legislate women’s bodies,” Milano also tweeted. “Every woman, regardless of geography, political affiliation or economic status, should have the right to decide if & when to enter motherhood, not have it foisted upon them.”
8. Abortion is a decision to be made by a woman and her physician (and potentially her God if she’s religious).
It is not for the government to decide and it certainly is for no one to judge.#Trustwomen We will make the right choice for her health and her unique situation.
