Bill O’Reilly Fact-Checks Jon Stewart on White Privilege

Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart had an intense fight about white privilege last week, and tonight O’Reilly followed up by fact-checking one of Stewart’s claims about racial integration in his “Truth Serum” segment.

Stewart argued that white privilege does exist because of all the disadvantaged black people have faced over the years; for example, the fact that for years, black people weren’t able to live in O’Reilly’s own hometown of Levittown.

And it wasn’t exactly an anti-Stewart segment, because O’Reilly acknowledged he was right about Levittown being segregated for years. But he didn’t think privilege had anything to do with it, since Levittown, as O’Reilly put it, wasn’t exactly a privileged place to live.

“We have to give Stewart props for-–history, right,” O’Reilly said, “But white privilege extending out, wrong.”
