Blitzer Grills DNC’s Wasserman-Schultz over Disinviting Vice-Chair for Debate Criticisms
Wolf Blitzer grilled DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz over claims by one of the DNC’s own vice-chairs that she was disinvited from tonight’s debate.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard claimed yesterday that after publicly calling out the DNC for limiting the number of debates, she was disinvited from the first debate of the cycle.
Wasserman-Schultz insisted to Blitzer that Gabbard “was asked to focus on our candidates” and “wants to distract” by “quibbling about process.”
Blitzer pressed her on how Gabbard could be disinvited if the Democrats are supposed to be the “big tent” party and why there are only six debates when the Republicans are having far more debates this year.
He also asked her about criticisms that the Democratic field this time around is all-white and 80 percent male, considering how diverse the DNC likes to tout the party as.
