Charlamagne Runs Through Brutal Clips on Daily Show To Prove Trump Is ‘Losing It As Badly as Biden’
Charlamagne Tha God pulled out an actual dementia checklist on The Daily Show to prove President Donald Trump is “losing it” as badly as former President Joe Biden.
Charlamagne stepped in on Tuesday to guest host The Daily Show and he threw out a series of clips as evidence that Trump’s age — he is 79 — may be leading to some memory lapses, confusion, and agitation. Charlamagne used a checklist of symptoms from the Mayo Clinic as he ran through the clips.
“Is Trump really losing it as badly as Biden? Hmm. Let’s run through this official list of dementia symptoms from the Mayo Clinic, alright?” Charlamagne said, pulling out his list and clipboard. “Now, first, I want to say that doctors warn it’s unethical to diagnose someone you haven’t actually examined, but I’m not a doctor, okay? So let’s go!”
First up on the list was memory loss, so Charlamagne played a clip of Trump saying he was “surprised” Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell was appointed, forgetting that he appointed him. The president has been highly critical of Powell, arguing repeatedly he should be dropping interest rates.
“Memory loss, check! He’s stealing Biden’s whole flow, word for word, bar for bar. I bet Biden’s somewhere watching this thinking, where am I?” Charlamagne joked.
He then played a clip of Trump mispronouncing the word “cryptologic” as proof of “problems with communication and finding the right words.”
Next up was Trump being asked by a reporter about the deadline for his tariff deals.
“Mr. President, do the tariff rates change at all on July 9 or do they change on August 1?” Trump was asked.
“What are you talking about?” the president said.
Charlamagne also jokingly played a clip of Trump dancing to YMCA as proof of “coordination and movement control.”
“I don’t get why Trump chose YMCA as his signature song. That dance involves coordination and spelling at the same time. Are you trying to kill this man,” he said.
He also played a series of clips of Trump growing “agitated” with questions from reporters. Charlamagne joked Trump needs to be put in a “retirement home immediately,” adding it should be one run by former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), referring to nursing home deaths under Cuomo’s watch during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The bad news is, Trump has rage issues,” he said. “The good news is there’s no way he’s remembering the nuclear codes, okay? Now, that’s my whole checklist, and I’ve reached my diagnosis. This guy needs to be put into a retirement home immediately!”
