Charles Osgood Receives Big Farewell on Final Show Hosting CBS Sunday Morning
After a lengthy broadcasting career, Charles Osgood signed off the air on today’s CBS News Sunday Morning.
Casual TV viewers may not know who Osgood is, but he has been working for CBS (on the radio and on television) since 1967.
Osgood took over hosting duties on Sunday Morning in 1994, and he recently announced his retirement.
Well, his final show was today, and not only did Osgood get a big sendoff, but he even played some piano and sang a song:

Today’s show was a special focusing on his life and career, interspersed with praise and thanks from network competitors, longtime colleague Ted Koppel, CBS friends and co-workers, and even Stephen Colbert and James Corden from CBS’ late-night lineup.
Osgood announced that his successor on Sunday Morning would be longtime newscaster Jane Pauley.
