Chelsea Handler: ‘I’ve Become Such a Kinder, Nicer Person’ Because of Trump Being Elected
Chelsea Handler says she’s now a “nicer” person because of President Donald Trump.
During the “Overtime” segment of Real Time, Handler was asked about how the “rightwing media” uses her to “enrage their base,” something she didn’t know was happening, adding that she doesn’t “give a sh*t” about what other say to her on social media.
“I think everybody should put their bad energy out there because that way, it’s recorded,” Handler told the panel. “Eventually, there’ll be come a time where we will tamp down on this behavior not through freedom of speech but through some other legislation.”
New York Times columnist Bari Weiss pushed back, saying it should be through legislation but through “restoring social norms” and “civility.”
Then the comedian/activist boasted her own kindness.
“I’ve become such a kinder, nicer person because of Donald Trump being elected and the hate,” Handler said. “Like, I’m nice to people I’ve never noticed before because I’m like ‘Oh my God, this is what happens if you don’t pay attention to other people around you. Get out of your own lane and pay more attention to the people around you. Because I’m nicer and kinder. I’m doing great.”
Handler has repeatedly expressed such “kindness” to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
