Chris Cuomo Says ’Of Course I Covered for My Brother’ After Verbal Brawl With Vivek Ramaswamy

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo was pushed into admitting that he “covered” for his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, after being confronted by Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy during a chaotic interview on Monday.

Cuomo opened the interview by asking, “Ramaswamy, why do you keep going at Nikki Haley?” to which Ramaswamy replied, “Chris, I don’t know what you’ve been smoking, man. You and the rest of the mainstream media, it’s laughable. Nikki Haley’s been going after me the whole campaign.”

After Cuomo criticized Ramaswamy’s remarks about the mainstream media, Ramaswamy snapped, “You’re part of the mainstream media despite pretending that you’re not. Look the audience in the eye and tell them how you covered for your brother.”

“You don’t want to take care of your family, that’s fine,” shot back Cuomo. “Of course I covered for my brother. Of course I help my brother. Or course I do.”

Ramaswamy replied, “And you know what? That’s been journalistic standards that have now been failed, not just by you, but by every member of the broken political media.”

“Everyone in the media is responsible for covering for my brother?” questioned Cuomo. “You miss the target by going too broad.”

The two men continued to exchange digs.

After Cuomo told Ramaswamy, “You can talk a lot and yet not say anything,” Ramaswamy shot back, “You would know a lot about that, Chris.”

“Nikki Haley keeps kicking your ass in these debates,” Cuomo declared, to which Ramaswamy said, “According to the left-wing media. Chris, give me a freaking break.”

Cuomo was fired from CNN in December 2021 after he was accused of helping his brother fight allegations of sexual harassment.
